The Black Nurses Association of the Greater Washington DC area will convene a continuing education symposium, "Bridging the Gap in LGBQT Healthcare" on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The focus of this program is to improve the clinical decision-making and care provided to the LGBQT community. The following topics will be addressed.

  • Health disparities and strategies to improve access to care among sexual minorities
  • Barriers to care for transgender people
  • Care considerations for the transgender patient on hormone therapy
  • Cultivating cultural humility in your clinical practice

A donation of $10 is requested for attendees and $5 for nursing students with university ID.

A light dinner will be served.

Limited free on-site parking is available, but car-pooling is recommended.
