Position Description

To our prospective teammates,

I am the Associate Regional Medical Director for our intensivist program at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus, located in Dover, Delaware. I’ve been part of Sound Critical Care since 2013, when I joined as a staff intensivist. I’m proud of the critical care team we have built in Dover and welcome interest from experienced critical care advanced practice providers (APPs) looking to join an established critical care team.

I’d like to share more about who we are and what we do — specifically about our people, practice, and purpose — as you consider your options:

People
  • Our team at Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus is a growing team of 3 intensivists and 2 critical care APPs.
  • Our team is comprised of clinicians from diverse geographic, educational, and training backgrounds with a shared dedication to the practice of critical care medicine.
  • In Dover, we also have the opportunity to work with residents from a number of different disciplines as they train in the ICUs.
  • Within the hospital, we work closely with our colleagues in other departments to ensure smooth transitions of care. We encourage our team members to be active participants in committees and to become part of the larger hospital team.
  • Close proximity to beaches and major metro areas are just two of the advantages of living in Dover. The historic charm of downtown Dover and easy access to Baltimore, Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and New York City are just a few of the benefits of living in beautiful Central Delaware. Beaches, cultural destinations, and endless outdoor activities are available for residents to enjoy and explore. Dover is the second-largest city in the state of Delaware and serves as the state capital.
Practice
  • Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus is a 317-bed community hospital with a growing trainee population looking to impact and expand care in this welcoming community.
  • The hospital offers a full complement of sub-specialty support including cardiovascular and thoracic specialists who are proficient in the latest treatments and surgeries. Onsite imaging and interventional services are available as well as a neuro intensive care unit with neurosurgeons onsite. A Certified Primary Stroke Center and ANCC Magnet Hospital, the Kent Campus brings the highest levels of care to the communities they serve.
  • We currently staff with 1 intensivist and 1 critical care APP during the day, with support from our tele-intensivists at night.
  • Intensivist-led multidisciplinary rounds are a fundamental part of our practice and occur every day with active team participation.
  • $190,000 – $205,000 depending on monthly shift average
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, long- and short-term disability, 401k, paid medical malpractice with tail coverage, and annual CME allowance.
Purpose
  • We put patients first. Always.
  • We value and support growth and development in our critical care medicine practice, allowing you to explore new opportunities locally and within the broader medical group.
  • We’re a community-minded team and support involvement and contributions to community health and wellness in and out of the hospital.
