Many of us providing outpatient care have been offering telemedicine to our patients.  Insurers have been reimbursing both telephone and video visits during the pandemic but payment for audio-only telehealth visits may not continue when the health emergency ends.  On Tuesday July 28th, the DC City Council will consider the Telehealth Reimbursement Amendment Act of 2020 offered by Council Member Gray, when it takes a final vote on the Budget Support Act.  The Amendment would allow continued reimbursement of audio-only telehealth services that are essential to providing equity access to care for DC residents.

For those of you who live and/or work in DC, please take action by sending an email to the DC Council Chair and DC Council by tomorrow.  Please find the attached draft letter than you can personalize by including the kinds of patients you serve and how audio-only only telehealth visits have allowed you to care for them.  It includes contact information for all of the Councilmembers.
