Posted almost 5 years ago by Barbara Dominguez
The Nurse Practitioner Association of DC invites you to our first meeting of the membership year on Thursday September 24, 2020 from 6 pm to 8 pm. As we have seen the events of this year unfold, the NPADC would like to address some of these vital topics throughout the membership year to improve the care we provide for our patients.
Our first speaker is Dr. Sandra Davis PhD, ACNP-BC, FAANP, Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Incision at the George Washington University School of Nursing and a member of the American Association of the Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Group. Dr. Davis will be presenting on the timely subject of “Understanding Implicit Bias”.
The NPADC is dedicated to including all nurse practitioners in DC. One way to increase our reach is by opening our virtual membership meetings to all NPs who register for free of charge. Continuing education credits will be offered to our paid members as a benefit to membership.

As frontline and essential workers, the NPADC would like to recognize all your efforts during these challenging times. We have reduced the membership fees for the 2020-2021 membership year as a thank you for all that you do. Additionally, we are promoting new initiatives to further strengthen our collective NP voice in DC, increase networking opportunities, and offer more career development. Your membership supports these efforts as we grow our standing as health care experts in DC.

Lastly, the NPADC will be asking for you to complete a membership survey. We want to hear from you to best serve the nurse practitioners in DC. AS always, feel free to reach out with your comments and suggestions.
Feel free to share this announcement with your fellow NP colleagues as we want to hear from all NPs who practice in DC. We look forward to meeting you on Thursday September 24, 2020 to kick off our first meeting of the membership year.
Warm regards,
Barbara Dominguez FNP-BC
