Join us for an educational evening for nurse practitioners. The NPADC will be hosting two great speakers who will be presenting timely information about improving the quality of telehealth encounters and prescription drug monitoring to help reduce the risk of overprescription and misuse of controlled substances.
APRNs and Telehealth: The Art of the Virtual Encounter
Ms. Kelli Garber MSN, APRN, PPCNP-BC will discuss the key factors related to the quality of a virtual encounter, telehealth etiquette, and important factors in the professional practice considerations for APRNs in conducting telehealth visits.
DC Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
Dr. Erica Loadman, PharmD will present details of how the DC PDMP operates, outline the purpose of the DC PDMP and role of the prescriber, demonstrate how to register for the PDMP and how to perform a query, identify current and pending legislation related to the PDMP, and describe the Live.Long.DC and other DC Health programs.
NPADC Updates
NPADC Board Members will provide updates on the current state of NPs in DC including upcoming initiatives, NPADC Board vacancies, APRN professional opportunities and employment options.
