DC has a new Family Leave and Paid Benefits Program, which offers paid leave for to people who work in DC under certain circumstances, regardless of where they live or receive healthcare. First Shift Justice Project has created resources to help busy health providers navigate the application process and required medical forms. Access the resources through this link: Resources for Medical Providers (https://www.firstshift.org/resources-for-medical-providers/) including an overview of the program and guidance regarding how to complete the required forms. You can sign up for First Shift's new health care provider newsletter with regular updates on the program, and register for one of their upcoming monthly webinars and office hours about the paid family leave program. For questions, resources, or to schedule a provider/staff presentation, contact Nikola Nable-Juris, Staff Attorney, by email (nnablejuris@firstshift.org) or phone (202-644-9043 x703). Summaries with program details are attached.
